History of Neversoft’s Eyeball Logo

Introduced in 1999, the Neversoft Eyeball Logo was simple yet impactful: a disembodied, bloodshot eyeball skewered on a metal spike. It reflected Neversoft's edgy, alternative, and darker aesthetic, fitting perfectly with the extreme sports and action-packed themes of their games.

The eyeball logo was typically animation into a short video shown when booting Neversoft titles from 1999 (Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater) until 2012 (Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD). The logo (and company as a whole) is known by many as the company who made the Tony Hawk skating games but Neversoft also helped produce several Spider-Man games, Guitar Hero games, and Call of Duty games.

Neversoft officially shut down on July 10, 2014. The closure came after the studio merged with Infinity Ward, a studio under Activision.
